Longview Lake County Park has something for everyone and is Jackson County’s largest campground, with 88 campsites. Visitors can access fishing, boating, beaches, biking, walking trails at the lake and a playground at the campsite. Golfing is available at the Fred Arbanas Golf Course nearby, too. Amenities include a fire grill, picnic table, restrooms, showers, and an attendant. Firewood is $7 a bucket, as outside firewood is not allowed. Campsite prices start at $29; however, if you need sewer, electric or water hookups for your RV, it will cost you more.
Residing in Craig, MO, about an hour and a half away from Kansas City, this 407-acre state park has everything you need for a successful camping trip! It offers easy access to the lake, a picnic shelter, campgrounds, and even camper cabins that overlook the lake. Electricity hookups, water fill-up and cleanout stations are also available.
Kampgrounds of America in Kansas City West lets you camp how you want. Located about 40 minutes from KC, this site has everything you need and more. Whether you have an RV or want to stay in a cabin or a premium tent, they have you covered…literally! This facility has a dog park, pool, snack bar, pavilion, propane, wifi, and bike rentals. The on-site cafe offers Hunt Brothers Pizza and Wings if you’re more into glamping.
